What We Do
Our work focuses on education, self-sufficiency, and collective action—supporting families as they learn, produce, and build together.
Education
We provide everything needed for learning to happen day to day. This includes school supplies, books, games and toys, clothing and boots, as well as technology such as a computer, a printer, and tablets. We also support the physical school environment by repairing the building and improving outdoor learning spaces like the vegetable garden and chicken coop.
Agriculture
We provide farming families with thousands of starter plants, such as peppers and coffee, along with pest management, irrigation systems, and ongoing, on-the-ground support to strengthen harvests, food security, and families’ ability to reinvest in future planting.
Income
We support families across the full production and sales cycle through community-based, shared work spaces and access to local markets. BAMBOO WORK Families built a shared space on the land of one family, which now serves as a bamboo workshop. We support this space with basic machines, tools, materials, transportation, and guidance from a bamboo expert, enabling families to build objects, furniture, and now begin work on their first home. MACRAMÉ AND SEWING Women work from a dedicated room in the home of another family, where we support learning and production with initial professional classes, tablets for self-learning, sewing machines, and all required materials. This enables the creation of items such as handcrafted planters, bags, and hammocks. PRODUCT PROCESSING AND SALES We support families in preparing products for sale by covering coffee processing, providing packaging and labels for coffee and honey, creating simple marketing materials, and arranging transportation and space at local fairs. We are also working toward selling these products through our website.
Housing
We support families in building their own homes using bamboo through a collective, community-based approach. We provide floor plans, materials, tools, transportation, and technical training through the bamboo workshop. Families work together to build durable housing using locally sourced materials and shared skills.
Why Donate to Us?
1
Long-term commitment
We work directly with the same families over extended periods, across education, livelihoods, and housing through consistent, hands-on engagement.
2
Transparency and accountability
We prioritize transparency so donors can see how support is used and how projects evolve.
A model built to last
3
Everything we do is designed so families can succeed independently as farmer and artisan entrepreneurs, with practical peer support that continues even after we move on to support new families and children.
